While South America is enjoying the end of summer, it’s a cold month in the northern US. Mother Nature is reminding us what winter is like in Wisconsin in February. Winter means snow. Winter means Snow Days – when school’s closed! The party begins when the snow reaches your shins and shuts down the city.
Out our back door, our fence became a snow gauge. At least 8″ fell overnight (20 cm).
Snow gauge out front and our neighbor’s “flocked” tree.
Here is a snow plow and driver opening the roads for us. They started about 4 am and worked all day as the snow continued to fall. Hope they work in shifts! Good work, crew.
A special combo snow blower and snow plow. Could we borrow this?
Our back steps waiting to meet a shovel and graceful snow falling all day.
Since we had no school, we walked to our nearby sledding hill. See the lower part of the hill beyond the trees? That’s a frozen lake! The woman in the aqua vest cross country skied on the lake to get to the sledding hill. Three pals slide down the hill faster and faster. Nature makes blizzards and kids make them fun.
What weather are you having in your part of the world? Here’s wishing you stay warm or stay cool. : )
This post inspired by my friend Cyranny in Montreal, Canada. (wave)
Gracias for reading Fake Flamenco! Olé! –Rebecca

Thank you for the shout out, Rebecca 🙂 I am glad you had fun with the kids! We had over 13 inches overnight in Montréal, and I am sure all the children were excited about it here too. All the schools were closed for the day, so I am guessing there has been a lot of sleding around town 😛

And I am envious of ‘looking’ at your snow. IT’s great to admire on the screen but I don’t think I’d survive the cold.
