This is a flower with carefully painted features, or so it seems. He’s the final daffodil in a month long parade.
Bright Squares #23

Botanists think this may be the variety that was featured in the Greek myth of Narcissus. He fell in love with the reflection of himself, then the gods changed him into a flower on the bank of the river. This is my favorite type of narcissus, because of the unique center. Do you have a favorite?

Yes, I love this one too, but it’s a bit bittersweet. It’s among the last to flower round here, so once it opens, we know that the end of the daffodil season is all but over.

I think my favorite is the first one that opens in the spring. It holds such promise and lifts my spirits. Actually, I love them all!
