The cool of the woods with the beauty of the prairie. That is Governor Nelson State Park. Feels like a whole day’s outing, when it’s twenty minutes away from our house.

The taller flowers that are about to bloom are called Joe Pye Weed or Eutrochium purpureum. The yellow ones are sunflowers Helianthus montanus, as you may have guessed.

If you like trees as much as I do, check out Becky’s page for more photos. ¡Olé! –Rebecca

I like that you listed the names. I don’t know them that well and that’s a beautiful spot to be!

Thank you, Kathleen. I looked them up to confirm which plants they were. I like to know the names too. : )

I certainly can be. Ours is amazing right now. We’ve had some monsoons in the high desert, so it’s cooler and lots of things are springing up. It’s wonderful. 🙂 Have a great rest of your weekend, Rebecca. 🙂
