Happy New Year! Hope your 2022 is starting off well. Time for our monthly poetry challenge at Fake Flamenco. If you’ve been thinking about throwing your hat in the ring, this is your time to shine. This month we will write a haiga; a haiku (5-7-5) with an image, in English or Spanish. You may choose the fossil rock image or your own.

Haiga
Each year abrades us
the sand and tides life’s scrubbings
improve our nature

Cada año raspa
olas y arena pulen
nos mejoran, ¡sí!

a force of nature put you

I like this as it encourages me to think of the wonder of this fossil’s survival over the millennia: only to be discovered by you.

Yes. But… the human touch is just a moment, a small geological accident in the fossil’s lifeless perennity.

And a happy, thought-provoking accident.

I like this very much Suzette. It’s highly visual, and I love the sense that the riches we encounter aren’t necessarily financial.

Yes, exactly…we are already rich, in many ways.
Thank you Margaret😊
