The final Odd Square of the month! Sad to see this photo challenge go. Thanks to Becky B for the inspiration.
We toured the beautiful offices of a local medical software giant yesterday. Several chess boards served as decoration. A historical tidbit is chess was brought to Spain by the North African occupation in the 700s.

What would Homer say about this office gaming trend? How about Marge? ¡Olé! -Rebecca
Oh, what a hoot! A brilliant last oddity!

Thank you, Margaret. Which side would you like, red or green? : )

(Whisper) I can’t play chess …

That’s okay, I think I’d get confused about who which piece was which – who’s the knight? Grandpa Simpson?

This is adorable! Although I will agree with your previous comment that I’d struggle distinguishing which character is the knight and bishop (it’s been a long time since I played chess, so I forgot the order between the two pieces!).

Thanks for your comments, Rebecca. The order is a little fuzzy for me between the knight and bishop. I think Lisa is the rook.

if only I could play chess – what fun, and a fascinating fact too 🙂

Thanks, Becky. Sure you could learn it if you put your mind to it, but you seem rather busy with your other pursuits; photography, blogging, travel and family.

I think I’d get confused which was which too. Fun though.

Thanks for your comments, Susan. It would be worth a bit of confusion to make up the lines that Homer would say in a checkmate situation!

I have not played chess in so long but have always enjoyed it. I am not a fan of ‘The Simpsons’ but this is so exceptionally nice

Thanks, Larry. I like how it gets kids interested in chess…like my friend’s grandson who won a tournament!
