I went for a noon walk with a neighbor where I saw a surprising sight. Near Lake Mendota were eleven birdhouses strung on a line between two trees. My friend explained that the poles that housed the birdhouses previously had tipped over in a storm! Thank goodness someone thought of this clever solution.

Although, I took the photo, and Eagle named the post with the six words.

Eggcellent indeed. So long as the birds are ok about being eggsposed on a washing line?

Marvelous solution. Nice to see a positive spin on “being hung out to dry.” Thank goodness.

Oh, I love these, so pretty! They have a pueblo vibe.
We had a birdhouse that swung on a line (it was made from a Dutch Wooden clog) but our local birds never liked it…… 😦

Yes, I know what you mean, like little adobe birdhouses. The clog sounds cute. I read that birds are quite choosy about the size of the entrance hole on their house. Who knew?

Could that be due to predators?

Yes, a larger circumference hole can let in predators.
