Welcome poets and poetry readers, to the Fake Flamenco Poetry Challenge for September. This month we will write a free verse elemental poem using the theme of wind. Choose to write about a breeze, a head wind, tornado... You are not required to use the word wind. For the challenge, write up to eight lines without rhyming. Rated G please.
We’ll use the literary device of anaphora. Anaphora is the repetition of a phrase, named by the Greeks. The most famous modern example is the Dr. Martin Luther King Jr’s use of this rhetorical device in his “I Have a Dream” speech. He repeats the key phrase eight times to emphasize his vision of equality.

Example:
Time of wind; leaves dance in circles
Time of wind; crimson and yellow give chase
Time of wind; maple seeds on the breeze
Midwestern autumn; acorns underfoot
the surge of night air through open windows
Cicadas virtuosos broadcasting arias
Zephyr-mailed gifts of September.
–Rebecca Cuningham, 5 September 2022
Ejemplo:
–Rebecca Cuningham, 5 septiembre 2022
