FOTD: Bee Blossom

We’ve lived in Madison for nearly twenty years now. I’ve begun gardening since we’ve moved here, at 43 latitude. Many plants are the same as where I grew up in 44 latitude Minneapolis. Still, there is so much flora to learn! Hiking at Pheasant Branch last weekend, I saw pink flowers I didn’t recognize. I asked a botanist friend what it was, she said; Bee Blossom.

Here’s to walking and to learning more each day.

  1. Get the app Picture This. It identifies plants for free. It tries to get you to buy something, but just click on the free part. The only time I’ve seen it flub up was for the rare New England Blazing Star, which it misidentified.
