2 Tires, 2 Feet, 4 Hooves

Perhaps there were more police than revelers, last Saturday on State Street. University students in costume walked the sidewalks and stood in lines to enter their favorite live music venues. State is closed to regular traffic all year; only buses, bicycles and pedestrians are to utilize it. The official Freak Fest was cancelled, and officers on bicycles, horses and their own two feet patrolled the street. I’m always surprised to find police on horses in the city. As a horse fan, it feels like a nice touch. I loved seeing the changing of the guard between the mounties and the cyclists. Both seem like more versatile forms of transportation than a squad car. Ride on grass or down a narrow alleyway? No problem, they’ve got it covered.

Do police ride bicycles and horses where you live?

      1. In India there are specific motorcycles for police of special squad. It’s Hero Splendor in white colour. There are women squad. They also have all similar colour scooter or motorcycle 🏍️.
For car earlier they used to have Jeep/gypsy
Now they generally use SUV, white coloured.
