Eagle gets full credit for this one. As we entered the car after visiting the library last week they said, “Do you see that?”
“See what?”
They pointed, “On the tree.”
Something was perfectly camouflaged, if anything was there at all. I got out of the car and stood. “There’s nothing there.”
“There is,” Eagle affirmed. I walked up to the tree to get a closer look. On a nubbin of a former branch hung a weathered wooden brush with natural bristles. Hair brush? Dog brush? Siberian tiger toothbrush?
“There is something, you’re right!”

What do you think? What are your guesses?
- Where did it come from?
- What was it for?
¡Olé! –Rebecca
This post is for Six Word Saturday.
P.S. Extra credit if you get the title reference. 😉 R
A real oddball mystery. You’d never notice with just a glance as it blends in so well. 🙂 I have no guesses as to why it’s there.

Whatever it was, it’s way beyond its sell-by date now! Well spotted, Eagle. Eagle-eyed indeed!

Brush and handle do you quite worn. Used to brush snow off books last winter?

I suspect your title refers to “A chicken for every pot.”

My favorite is the 4th black and white close up, Rebecca. Excellent! That’s where the texture really pops, and we can forget about the dirt. (Just what has that brush been brushing?) Lol
(Sorry for posting twice. Somehow my first one got completely mangled when sending. Could you delete it, please?)

Good guess. The title refers to a song of one of my mom’s favorite groups.

That is an interesting tree-brush combo indeed! There’s got to be a story in it… Just in case it is a Siberian tiger’s toothbrush, you may want to keep your distance and observe from a safe vantage point!

I thought it’s dead squirrel.
Maybe it’s some kind of thing to curse the cars 😝

This is so well camouflaged that only who is very observant would spot it. I think it’s a brush for all those who need to clean their shoes, passing by

Nicely spotted to Eagle! If there’s a tree house above, I’d say it’s a convenient spot to store the toiletries for the occupants?? 🙂

Tree houses would be stellar in a library parking lot! Cool.

That looks quite intriguing, though I’ve no clue what does the eagle in the title could possibly mean, lol!

Thanks for writing, Anjali. I call our teenager “Eagle” on this blog, to protect their privacy.

No problem, it would seem surprising out of context.

I can’t tell you what kind of brush it is/was. I was just relieved to learn it was hanging on the nubbin of an old branch! When I first saw the photo, I was afraid someone had pounded a nail into the poor tree! Whew!

How sweet of you to think of the welfare of the tree. Rest assured, no trees were harmed in the creation of this post 😉
