Four years ago we bought Crayola window crayons to decorate with before our Día de los Muertos party. After the fiesta, I got thinking we could make art with them year round. We began a tradition of seasonal window decorations in our kitchen. Each change of season our child and I combine forces to produce window art. Low tech fun every three months, artful surroundings, and continuous vocabulary reinforcement!

Our first in Autumn 2016!: Words by Mom (plus two leaves), Drawing by Eagle.

Autumn 2017: Words and Drawing by Eagle.

Autumn 2018: Words by Mom (+leaf pile and grass), Drawing by Eagle.

Autumn 2019: Mom wrote the words, drew the tree, squirrel, leaf pile and snowflakes, Eagle drew the red leaves on the tree.

Winter 2018: Words and a few snowflakes by Mom, Eagle took the snowflakes to town!

Winter 2019: Tree and a couple of snowflakes by Mom, Eagle drew the tree snow and most of the snowflakes.

Spring 2018: Words and three tall flowers by Mom, Blue sky and garden of flowers by Eagle.

Where’s summer? Well you should ask! I couldn’t find a single photo of El verano. A clue I found was a photo of a La primavera window taken in the fall! I think we’re so busy outdoors in the garden, or biking, or swimming, that summer is lived, not drawn.
