Mid-week I drove past the magic catwoman helmet intersection on the way home from taking Eagle to school. It did not disappoint. I saw an odd jelly bean shape, painted red, on the bike path across from me. As I waited at the stoplight, it crossed the street and headed toward me. What luck!

I was able to take three photos. The stoplight turned green and I took a fourth. The driver behind me let me know with their horn that was it!

The pictures aren’t razor sharp, but you get the idea. I still don’t know what it is exactly.
Bike or car? Electric or human powered? Let us know what you think in the comments.

Looks a bit like a smaller Weinermobile

You’re right, Neal. Perhaps a Roma tomato to make side relish? 😉

How fascinating! Three wheels and in the bike lane. So strictly speaking it isn’t a “bi-cycle” but I know that wasn’t the nature of the question. I’d vote for it being human powered – like a recumbent bike in a shell?

Good point, Wynne. Encapsulated recumbent tricycle perhaps? I think it may be electric, and thus technically not allowed in the bike lane (although that’s where I first spotted it)…

Fascinating! I love your photos…incredible capture.
I have no idea for sure but it looks like a bike/electric car hybrid ( a twike). Just guessing…

Thanks, Suzette. Luck of the stoplight! An electric twike, yes that’s what it must be.

Wow! I have never seen anything like that. I would call it a car. A very tiny car! Looks like fun, but I would be a tiny bit scared to drive that on the streets, whatever it is.

Great capture. I agree with those who call it an electric car/bike hybrid would that be an electric cike or an electric bar?

I guess with gas prices the way they are you gotta do what you gotta do but.. I think I’d walk.

Thanks for your comments, Sheri. It is a surprising little peanut, isn’t it? Very eyecatching. I’d like to try one, but I think I prefer an upright bicycle. 🙂

You’re welcome!
And it’s certainly a unique but I don’t think I could get in it.. I’d feel like a bug about to be squished. 😵

Pedal power wrapped in plastic. There were a few of these in Seattle when I lived there in the 1990s. I love the concept!

I don’t know, but why do I want to flip it over with my pinky?

Looks that sturdy? ; ) I think I’d rather ride a bike.
